The nattuvangam leads and guides the dance.
Performed by the nattuvanar — traditionally the dancer's guru — using a small pair of cymbals (talam), the nattuvangam recites the rhythmic syllables (jathis) and keeps time for the entire ensemble. It is the thread that binds dancer and orchestra together, cueing transitions and holding the tempo throughout the recital.
Artist to be announced. Add the nattuvanar's name and photo here.
